On July 11, 1933, the Provisional Central Government of the Soviet Republic of China decided on August 1 as the anniversary of the founding of the Chinese workers' and peasants' Red Army in accordance with the recommendation of the Central Military Commission on June 30. On June 15, 1949, the Military Commission of the Chinese people's Liberation Army issued an order to use the word "August 1" as the main symbol of the military flag and emblem of the Chinese people's Liberation Army. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was renamed the army day of the Chinese people's Liberation Army.
