1.The role of zinc in brass and the characteristics of brass brass brass ordinary brass is to copper and zinc as the main elements of the binary alloy, also known as simple brass. Zinc is dissolved in copper, but brass containing 50% zinc can be used in practice. There are 10 brands: H96, H90, H85, H80, H70, H68, H65, H63, H62, H59. Zinc (Zn) is mainly added as a solid solution strengthening alloy element in common brass. Zinc can be dissolved in a large amount of copper, and zinc dissolved in copper shows different lattice structure in different concentration range. The role of zinc in copper is:
2.The main points of production technology of brass plate and Strip 1. INGOT heating. HIGH-ZINC BRASS is easy to “Dezincification”at high temperature, and some complex brass have large casting stress, therefore, most brass should not be heated quickly at high temperature. The micro-oxidation atmosphere should be used in the furnace. 2. Hot rolled. Some brass (such as high-zinc brass) have brittle β phase in addition to α phase at high temperature. It is better to avoid brittle temperature zone when hot rolling in order to avoid cracking. Low-zinc simple brass (such as H96, H90, etc.) has good plasticity and can be hot-rolled in a large temperature range, but some complicated brass such as lead brass has limited plasticity at high temperature, so the temperature range of hot-rolled brass is narrow. 3. Cold rolled. Simple brass also has quite good plasticity, processing rate can reach more than 75% , and most complex brass plasticity is poor, some processing rate less than 50% . Therefore, the total processing rate should be designed to leave room, so as not to crack edge, broken band. 4. annealing. Some brass (such as HPb59-1, H62, etc.) are sensitive to internal stress and should be annealed within 24 hours after cold working to avoid cracking or deformation due to internal stress (such as ladle oil) . FOR HIGH-ZINC BRASS, the lower limit of annealing temperature should be taken to prevent high-temperature dezincification, so that the products appear “Pitted surface”defects. Because the zinc in brass has degassing effect during casting, the gas content in metal is less, so the hydrogen content in protective gas can be higher than that in copper during annealing. 5. Cleaning and finishing. Brass pickling, acid concentration should not be too high, time should not be too long to avoid pickling and “Dezincification.”. High-zinc brass hard products and semi-hard products should not be straightened repeatedly, otherwise stress relief annealing must be carried out in time.
